Auch beim 2023er Pokal der Blauen Schwerter war das Meißner Publikum wieder der gewohnt liebenswürdige Gastgeber für die internationale Heberelite.
40 Athletinnen und Athleten aus 10 Nationen sorgten für maximale Spannung bei spektakulären Hebungen und sportliche Höchstleistungen. Der wertvolle Pokal aus „Weißem Gold“ ging mit Sieger Vallenilla aus Venezuela erstmals auf die weite Reise nach Südamerika. Bei den Damen sicherte sich die sympathische Belgierin Nina Sterckx die begehrte Porzellanvase.
Der neue, erstmals anwesende Präsident der Europäischen Gewichtheber-Föderation, Antonio Conflitti aus Moldawien, lobte das Fluidum der Traditionsveranstaltung in der ehrwürdigen Burgstadt in den höchsten Tönen.

At the 2023 Blue Swords Cup, the Meissen audience was once again the usual gracious host for the international lifting elite.
40 athletes from 10 nations ensured maximum excitement with spectacular lifts and top sporting performances. The valuable “white gold” trophy made its long journey to South America for the first time with winner Vallenilla from Venezuela. For the ladies, the likeable Belgian Nina Sterckx secured the coveted porcelain vase.
The new President of the European Weightlifting Federation, Antonio Conflitti from Moldova, who was present for the first time, praised the atmosphere of the traditional event in the venerable castle town in the highest tones.
